7 and a half months
This little guy is really happy. Lots of smiles. He is all hands. I mean he is always after something and he is so fast. Within the past couple of days he has learned to clap and he finally is saying mama or muh-muh. And I really believe he associates it with me. He's been saying dada forever and his favorite thing to say is buh. He loves those little puffs that you can give babies. He's nuts about them actually. If he see the container he'll stare and talk about them until I figure out that's what he wants. Then when I finally clue in he waves both arms up and down, smils and squeals.

Awww...
I hadn't taken a shower yet when John got home (which actually happens a few times a week) so pretty much as soon as he got home I handed him the kids and took a long leisurely shower. This is what I found when I came out. John uses Youtube to put the kids to sleep. He just plays them a music video and voila! He's a good dad.

Napping while eating
Here's my girl again showing how she doesn't need her afternoon nap. This was taken at around 6:30 pm. I went in the living room to answer the phone and when I came back this is what I found. I washed her hands and face, took her to her room, changed her diaper and put her in her crib all without waking her.

The guys.
John styled JD's hair the other day. It turned out really cute. The fact that they were dressed similarly was an added bonus!

New tricks
JD - 6 and a half months
While we were in Tahoe JD learned to crawl/ scoot. He can get around pretty well now. He will also grab anything that is in front of him and he is fast. He really loves getting his hands on paper and when we take it away he cries. He is smiley, happy and vocal. He is a sleep fighter. He doesn't give up until he just can't take it anymore. He does not sleep through the night. He wakes to nurse once or twice still.
Katie - 2years 3 months
Knows all her letter sounds and enjoys working with little words like those that end in -at. (Thanks Leapfrog!) She also knows where about 40 states go and can recognize them by their shape. We have a puzzle map that she likes working with. She knows her numbers 1-10 in Spanish and English. Her vocabulary is large! She has a good amount of Spanish words as well. She really plays with her toys. Her favorites are the Dora toys. She loves to pretend and she talks for her different toys and animals. She is a great big sister and loves to help out. She goes number 2 on the toilet and she is probably ready for the rest of the training to take place but mommy has been procrastinating. The idea seems overwhelming having to do that and take care of JD at the same time. One thing Katie would hate to live without: MILK. She can't get enough of it.

Halloween & Pumpkin Patch 2008
For JD's first Halloween he was a pumpkin. I bought Katie a Lion but she didn't really want anything to do with it. She said she wanted to be a pumpkin too but it was too late for me to go out and buy another. So I brought out last year's lady bug costume and she was very excited about the idea. (She didn't know she'd worn it before plus this year she was way more excited about it anyway.) She really seemed to get the hang of trick or treating this year. It took a couple houses but she learned quickly and thought it was great.
